Behr Just Unveiled It’s Paint Color of the Year

While the world waits for Pantone to release its Color of the Year for 2020, Behr paints has just announced its 2020 Color of The Year. It’s nature-inspired (no surprise) and is described as “calming, restorative and meadow-inspired.” It’s a yellow-green called Back to Nature and it’s considered to be Behr’s most versatile Color of the Year choice yet, according to Behr’s Vice President of Color and Creative Services Erika Woelfel.

The color is riffing off the desire to escape to the wilderness for a sense of serenity and connection with nature. Incorporating this color into your home office or even corporate office is one of the easiest ways to bring the outside in. That’s because the subtle shade is literally “nature’s neutral” according to Woelfel.

The color selected is the result of looking at different color and furniture trends at consumer shows and taking inspiration from cuisine, fashion, travel destinations and consumers’ favorite paint colors.

Behr also revealed its 2020 Color Trend Palette which includes 14 other colors that are complementary to Back to Nature.

Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2019 was Living Coral, described as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge.”
